Giving Tuesday is a worldwide generosity movement that has taken place on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving since 2012. With the goal of encouraging people to do good, Giving Tuesday has prompted people and organizations of all kinds to donate and give back to their communities in various ways. In 2021, Giving Tuesday raised a record $2.7 billion in the U.S. with over 35 million participants. The idea: everyone has something to give.  We at Eastern Standard Provisions recognize our responsibility to give back to our community, and it is our pleasure to continue supporting a number of organizations close to our hearts. Although we’ve been able to provide ample donations to our collaborators thus far, we hope to expand our collaborations and charitable impact. We encourage everyone to get involved in Giving Tuesday, whether you’re donating, volunteering, or otherwise supporting your community.  Our Collaborators: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® provides treatment for young people suffering from life-threatening diseases, as well as world-class medical research facilities. Beyond their reputation as superlative in pediatric cancer treatment, St. Jude’s has significantly contributed to the standard of treatments for sickle cell disease, neurological disorders, and infectious diseases. With over 120 translational research labs, St. Jude’s aims to further advance their treatments and research in hopes of securing a cure.  So far this year, our St. Jude Gift of Hope Box has generated over $60,400 in donations to St. Jude’s, which will provide 40 days of chemotherapy for leukemia patients, or 6,000 meals for patients and families. Since our founding, Eastern Standard has been able to donate a total of over $500,000 to St. Jude’s with the help of our loyal customers. An exceedingly reputable organization, Boston Children’s has been providing advanced pediatric medical services and testing since 1869. As they face growing occupancy rates, Boston Children’s Hospital hopes to expand their Boston facilities to serve more members of the community, as well as add an ambulatory surgical center at their Needham location.  In 2022, our Boston Children’s Hospital Care For Kids Box brought about impactful donations to the hospital. In total, our donations will provide five years (260 weeks) of patient-family housing for those who need to stay local during their child’s treatment, or 100 tablet computers to get children happily through their stays. In 2023, we hope to break our record of donations to Boston Children’s Hospital. Each year, the ACS secures treatment services and funding for over 1.4 million new patients and 14 million cancer survivors. Currently, the American Cancer Society is reaching new and exciting milestones in various types of cancer research, and hopes to augment their global cancer control work in low-income countries. Last year, our American Cancer Society® Breast Cancer Awareness Box continued to raise funds for cancer treatment and research. These donations will provide housing and accommodations for patients and their families undergoing cancer treatment throughout the country. Here’s a brief summary of the collaborations we have launched thus far, and this is only the beginning! St. Jude Research Hospital St. Jude Research Hospital  is a leading children's hospital that treats the toughest childhood cancers and pediatric diseases. The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to “advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment.”  St. Jude Gift Of Hope Box To help support St. Jude in their mission during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and throughout the rest of the year, Eastern Standard Provisions is donating $10 of every  “Gift of Hope” charity box to St. Jude Research Hospital. Throughout the past year, Eastern Standard Provisions has donated  $303,620 towards St. Jude and their mission to lead the way the world understands, treats, and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. With this donation, Eastern Standard Provisions can help St. Jude Research Hospital provide any of the following: approximately 24 full days of inpatient treatment; or approximately 200 days of chemotherapy; or over 607 hours of physical therapy; or 30,362 meals for St. Jude patients. The American Cancer Society The  American Cancer Society is a nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization leading the attack against cancer from every angle. The organization promotes healthy lifestyles to help you prevent cancer, researches cancer and its causes to find more answers and better treatments, and fights for life-saving policy changes. The American Cancer Society provides emotional support and the latest cancer information for those who have been affected directly or indirectly by cancer.  Breast Cancer Awareness Box To help support The American Cancer Society in their mission during Breast Cancer Awareness Month and throughout the rest of the year, Eastern Standard Provisions will donate $10 of every Breast Cancer Awareness Box sold directly to the American Cancer Society®. Since this past October, Eastern Standard Provisions has donated  $16,910 to the American Cancer Society and their mission to increase access to care, encourage prevention, and fund life-saving research. Boston Children’s Research Hospital Boston Children’s Hospital is dedicated to improving and advancing the health and well-being of children around the world through its life-changing work in clinical care, biomedical research, medical education and community engagement. According to  U.S. News and World Report, Boston Children's is ranked the number one pediatric hospital in the nation.  Boston Children’s Hospital Care For Kids Box To help support Boston Children’s Hospital, Eastern Standard Provisions newly released the Care For Kids Box. With every box sold, our company will donate $10 to help Boston Children’s treat more children with rare diseases and complex conditions than any other hospital in the world. This month, Eastern Standard Provisions has launched our newest Care For Kids Box and donated  $2,290 to Boston Children's Hospital.

September 2021 St. Jude Research Hospital® is a leading children's hospital that treats the toughest childhood cancers and pediatric diseases. The mission of St. Jude is to “advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment.” Since the hospital was founded over sixty years ago, not a single child has been denied treatment at St. Jude based on race, religion, or family’s ability to pay. In fact, patients never receive a medical bill throughout their entire treatment process at St. Jude. Childhood Cancer Awareness Month September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month, a time to recognize and support friends and family who have been or are currently affected by childhood cancers. A time to emphasize the importance of childhood cancer research and funding throughout the world. A time to spread positivity and hope for everyone in and outside of our lives battling these devastating conditions.  To help support St. Jude in their mission, Eastern Standard Provisions® is donating $10 of every  “Gift of Hope” Charity Box to St. Jude Research Hospital. Throughout the past year, Eastern Standard Provisions has donated $228,410 towards St. Jude and their mission to lead the way the world understands, treats, and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. With this donation, Eastern Standard Provisions can help St. Jude Research Hospital provide any of the following: 18 full days of inpatient treatment  151 days of chemotherapy  457 hours of physical therapy 22,841 meals for St. Jude patients We're not stopping here... With this goal, Eastern Standard Provisions can help St. Jude provide any of the following: 40 full days of inpatient treatment Deliver 50 CT scans Cover 100 days in the ICU Provide 210 ultrasound studies Provide 330 days of chemotherapy Provide 1,000 units of platelets for transfusions Support 1,000 hours of physical therapy Provide 1,110 days of oxygen for patients Provide 1,560 chest x-rays Enable 1,920 units of red blood cells for transfusions 330 days of chemotherapy to leukemia or solid tumor patients Supply 50,000 meals for St. Jude patients Provide 50,000 new toys for play areas The Story Behind “Jump For Joy” Sprinkles At St. Jude, staff members are passionate about supporting their patients' recovery process every step of the way. When patients finish their chemotherapy regimens, a process that can last two to three years, the staff at St. Jude throws a “No More Chemo” party to mark the end of chemotherapy treatment. To make this moment special, the staff sings a “No More Chemo” song and showers patients in colorful confetti! To honor this inspiring tradition, Eastern Standard Provisions has created a Jump For Joy Sprinkle that is included in our new St. Jude “Gift of Hope” charity box! While the month of September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we are dedicated to supporting St. Jude and their work all year long.
