Apple Crisp with Topknot Pretzel Crumb Topping

Ingredients

- 1 Topknot Signature XL Soft Pretzel
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 1/4 cups light brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 8 oz butter, cubed
- 1 cup oats

Instructions

Filling

6 medium sized apples
3 tablespoons Eastern Standard Provisions Co. French Toast Sugar
1 teaspoon lemon juice

Instructions

Pretzel Crumb Topping

1. Cut cold butter into small cubes
2. Cut Topknot into 1/4 inch pieces
3. Put all ingredients into stand mixer* and, using paddle attachment, mix until it just starts to come together, but is still crumbly. Mixture should look like wet sand.

*If no stand mixer, you can use the tips of your fingers to bring the mixture together.

Filling

1. Thinly slice apples.
2. Toss apples with the sugar and lemon and spread evenly into 9x9 baking dish.
3. Sprinkle the pretzel crumb topping over the apple in a nice thick layer.
4. Bake at 350 degrees 45-55 minutes until golden brown on top and bubbly.

Note: We use Granny Smith apples for tartness, and Honeycrisp for sweetness.
