Patty Melt on a Turnbuckle

Patty Melt on a Turnbuckle
  • Our Turnbuckle soft pretzel sticks, thawed 6
  • Our White Truffle Pretzel Salt
  • Our Truffle Mustard
  • Ground beef 1 pound
  • Swiss cheese 6 slices
  • Vidalia onion, thinly sliced 1
  • Butter 3 tablespoons
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1.

    Slice Turnbuckles in half, butter and top with White Truffle Salt, then bake following our heating instructions.

    In a medium bowl, gently mix ground beef, salt and pepper. Form into 6 oval-shaped patties 

  • 3.

    Warm up your grill, if using a propane grill heat to 400 degrees, and cook patties for 5-8 minutes (depending on how well done you prefer). Transfer to a plate. 

  • 4.

    Assemble patty melts: Spread truffle mustard on bottom half of the Turnbuckle, top with a slice of Swiss cheese, caramelized onions, patties and more Swiss Cheese. Top with top of Turnbuckle to create sandwich.

  • 5.

    Place patty melts back on grill and press with a heavy, grill-friendly object, like a cast-iron press or pan. Let cook until cheese is melted. 

  • 6.

    Serve and enjoy! 

This pretty little patty melt packs a punch of layered flavors, from decadent white truffle to melty Swiss cheese. How could you say no?

Instructions

Caramelized Onions: 

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a small skillet over medium heat and cook onions, stirring often and reducing temperature to low until onions are a deep golden brown and very soft, 15-20 minutes. Set aside. 

Patties and Assembly:  

  • Slice Turnbuckles in half, butter and top with White Truffle Salt, then bake following our heating instructions.
  • In a medium bowl, gently mix ground beef, salt and pepper. Form into 6 oval-shaped patties

Italian Baked Cheese Dip

Instructions: Preheat oven to 400°F. Coat small (about 2½ cup) oven-proof baking dish with cooking spray. Beat cream cheese in a large bowl with electric mixer until light and airy, about 2 minutes. Add 1/2 cup ricotta cheese and beat for a minute. Add White Cheddar Cheese Sauce and beat for another minute. Add 4 teaspoons of basil, pepper and salt. Add 1 cup of cheddar and breadcrumbs. Beat until blended. Spread mixture in prepared dish. Top with remaining ¼ cup of cheddar. Bake for 15 to 17 minutes or until heated through but not bubbling. Serve warm, topped with tomatoes, red onions and remaining basil. Heat pretzels as directed and ENJOY!
